WOW! 2011 has been a very busy and successful year for us here in Manchester and no doubt 2012 will be even better.
2012 will be a very exciting and special year for the Institute. It marks the centenary of the CII having been granted its original Royal Charter by King George V.
The Institute will be marking the occasion in style. One way we will be doing this is with our Centenary conference - GOING FOR GOLD.

We have a fantastic line up of speakers and tickets are selling out fast. It will be a conference that will go down in history and we want you to be part of it. We are delighted to have Olympic Gold Medallist Sally Gunnell OBE as a keynote speaker as well as a number of high profile leading industry figures.
Be prepared to be wowed! We are going to not only celebrate the past 100 years but also look to the future and the challenges and opportunities we face as a sector - So the date for the diary is the 9th March 2012, Hilton Hotel, Manchester.
Last year we raised over £26,000 for the Christie Cancer charity which is unbelievable thanks to the hard work of everyone involved.
One of our major new events this year was our 'Style in the City' event which was more than a fashion show. With over 400 people in attendance and more than 100 involved in the organisation we will be running this event again in 2012 in support of the Christie.
We continue to raise an enormous amount of money for the Insurance Charities and supported the companies and individuals who entered the President's award at the Manchester Insurance Awards entitled 'Unsung Heroes'.
Keep your eye on the website for details of forthcoming CPD and Networking events for both CII and PFS members. We organised over twenty free to member CPD seminars in 2011.
Our dinner on 11th November 2011 was again a sell out - over 770 people attended and another huge success. This date was also a very important one as it marked the twinning of the Manchester Insurance Institute, the oldest dating back to 1873 with the newest , the Gibraltar Insurance Institute formed in 2009 and becoming part of the CII family in 2010. You will hear more about this in the new year . This is a very exciting development.
